This event, being a part of the EU's LIFE program Call, specifically targets children and families, aiming to instill the principles of conservation, respect, and sustainability towards nature. Its primary objective is to educate and raise awareness among attendees about the importance of preserving our environment and fostering a sustainable mindset.
Through this initiative, our goal was to establish a collaboration with Anna Nebot from Aiguanatura (aiguanatura.com) and the NGO Aquaponics United (aquaponicsunited.com). Together, we aimed to promote the concept of aquaponics among young children, encouraging their involvement and interest in this sustainable practice.
We had the opportunity to gather families around a table, where we provided an insightful explanation of aquaponics and its workings. Moreover, we organized a workshop for the children, allowing them to plant basil seedlings using reusable cups, vermiculite, and water. This interactive activity brought immense joy to the little ones, although it posed a slight inconvenience for the parents who had to carry the water-filled cups home. ;)
What We Did ?
Thanks to our EDU system, we successfully accomplished our mission. We dismantled it and efficiently packed it into a compact 1/2 m3 space, allowing for easy transportation over a distance of 1000 km from our facilities in southern Spain. Upon reaching our destination, we skillfully reassembled the system, using this opportunity to communicate our aquaponics message. This endeavor not only showcased the capabilities of the EDU system but also exemplified our expertise in logistics, emphasizing the success and efficiency of our designs.
