About Us

We Build Aquaponic Systems. The Future Cannot Be Ignored

Who We Are

Pioneering aquaponics from Málaga

Aquaponics Costa del Sol (ACS) is a pioneering aquaponics company based in Alhaurín El Grande, Málaga, Spain. Founded by Lorraine Hodges — a biologist specialized in aquaponic systems — ACS designs, builds, and delivers sustainable food production solutions for individuals, communities, and commercial operations.

Our mission is to make aquaponics accessible, scalable, and practical — from backyard growers to international development projects. We believe that sustainable food production should be available to everyone.

Lorraine Hodges — Founder & Biologist

Lorraine Hodges is a biologist with deep expertise in aquaponic system design and operation. Her work spans from educational installations in Spanish schools to large-scale development projects in Central America. She is the creator of the DD Scalability Module and the JENNY educational system.

From Málaga to Honduras, she adapts each system to local conditions — always grounded in biological research and a commitment to teaching communities how to operate their own systems.

Our Approach

Four principles behind every system

Modular Design

Our DD Scalability Modules grow with your needs.

Science-Driven

Every system is backed by biological research and field testing.

Education First

We teach, train, and empower communities to operate their own systems.

Global Reach, Local Roots

From Málaga to Honduras, we adapt to local conditions.

Our Process

We create aquaponics following 4 steps

1

Objectives

Market research, social impact, feasibility and goals for your project.

2

Design

Ground, lighting, layout and system engineering tailored to your space.

3

Investment

Expenses and benefits — a clear financial picture before you build.

4

Project Management

From concept to a fully operational aquaponics system.

About

We are very happy doing aquaponics

An aquaponics system represents a symbiotic environment where fish and plants are cultivated together. This groundbreaking method offers a sustainable solution for producing high-quality animal protein, fruits, and vegetables, all achieved without the need for harmful chemicals.

I am convinced that aquaponics is the sustainable solution for humanity's food supply.

We eagerly look forward to hearing your ideas and bringing them to life.
