Terrace 7 m2

This small aquaponic system was designed to fit a 12 m² terrace and provide a practical introduction to aquaponics. Building it offered a way to explore the full process at a manageable scale: sourcing suitable components and materials, adapting the layout to the available space, and becoming familiar with the system’s day-to-day needs.

The project also provided an opportunity to understand how local weather, seasonal changes and equipment noise affect a system in a domestic setting, and to identify the practical challenges that can arise along the way. It was a valuable first step for gaining experience, refining ideas and making informed decisions before taking on a larger project or expanding production.
