Driven by the initiative of "El Aula del Mar" and personally led by its manager, Juan Antonio Lopez, this remarkable fair served as a catalyst for uniting entrepreneurs, farmers, bankers, and educators in Spain, all with the shared goal of promoting the aquaponics sector. Spanning a single day, the event featured an expansive exhibition area where attendees had the opportunity to immerse themselves in our exhibition stand, where we proudly showcased our professional aquaponics services.

The objective was to foster the promotion of this groundbreaking production model, bringing together aquaponics professionals from various sectors of the food chain under a unified banner. The aim was to create a platform for collaboration and advancement in the field of aquaponics in Spain, ensuring that the country does not lag behind other nations where aquaponics is already gaining traction, such as the USA, Australia, and China. This concerted effort was driven by the vision to embrace innovation and propel the Spanish agri-food sector forward.

In terms of results and conclusions, it was unanimously agreed by all attendees that the aquaponics sector requires development and regulation in line with European standards. This consensus emerged from the extensive discussions and feedback received during the event. The attendees firmly believe that aquaponics holds immense potential for a prosperous future, provided it is appropriately legislated and widely propagated. The general consensus underlines the importance of establishing a robust regulatory framework to ensure the sustainable growth and success of the aquaponics industry.

What We Did ?

To meet the demands of the event situated 60 km away, we embarked on the challenge of developing an inventive, portable, and budget-friendly aquaponic system. Our achievement came in the form of two distinct systems: the first incorporated a fish tank and hydroponic crop, specifically designed for office desks, while the second utilised Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) to maximise cultivation area, ensure structural integrity, facilitate effortless disassembly, enhance component durability, and enable future reuse.
